This program merges specialized music education with interdisciplinary exploration, creative collaboration, and business acumen. Alongside your musical training, you'll transform concepts into inventive outcomes, potentially including ventures in digital and creative industries, spanning both social and commercial spheres.

Our Music Department provides extensive studies in musicology, composition, and performance across various styles and traditions. These are enhanced by weekly concerts, masterclasses, departmental performances, and involvement in Bristol's vibrant music community. Instruction comes from globally renowned music scholars, composers, and professional performing artists. Our facilities are housed in the historic Victoria Rooms, a Bristol icon featuring a 530-seat concert hall. Many students obtain organ and choral scholarships with local churches and Bristol Cathedral.

You'll collaborate with peers from innovative fields like computer science, psychology, and geography. Each discipline brings unique insights as you tackle challenges, identify opportunities, and generate concepts. Through exchanging diverse perspectives, you'll co-create innovative solutions that blend your specialized knowledge with interdisciplinary approaches.

Upon graduation, you'll possess a comprehensive portfolio including client projects and entrepreneurial proposals. You'll master evaluating venture potential, securing funding, and will have built a supportive network of peers and mentors.

Performance studies encompass numerous instruments and vocal techniques. If your specific instrument or vocal style isn't currently available, our department will help explore suitable alternatives.
