This cross-disciplinary program provides a fresh approach to exploring medieval culture and society. Students will enjoy instruction informed by cutting-edge research and practical training across diverse fields such as history, literature, languages, manuscript studies, music, religion, and classical studies.

Participants gain access to one of the UK's most vibrant medieval studies hubs, featuring over 30 faculty members and about 30 postgraduate researchers (MPhil/PhD) annually, creating a dynamic, interdisciplinary academic environment.

The Centre for Medieval Studies organizes numerous research seminars, lectures, and public events each year. Program instructors are center members, many holding global recognition in their specialties.

Outside campus, students can utilize Bristol's rich historical resources - Europe's medieval portal - and the broader southwest region's archival and architectural treasures. Unique placement opportunities allow students to acquire professional experience with university-affiliated cultural institutions, developing transferable skills for academic and non-academic careers in medieval studies.
