The BSc Psychology in Education is an applied psychology program that employs psychological research techniques to analyze social and human behavior within educational settings across all stages of life. Similar to our BSc Education Studies, this program views education as a lifelong process occurring in diverse environments.
With accreditation from the British Psychological Society, graduates gain eligibility to pursue professional training as psychologists.
Students develop crucial skills that bridge two dynamic, interconnected fields. You'll implement psychological theories and research in actual educational scenarios involving learners of all ages.
The curriculum features an optional practical placement unit called Education in Practice, allowing you to integrate academic knowledge with real-world educational experiences in schools, community groups, charities, museums, or similar organizations.
The program employs varied teaching methods including lectures, workshops, seminars, discussions, independent study, and tutorials to provide comprehensive, research-backed professional training. Collaborative seminar and workshop activities foster teamwork, while presentations build confidence in articulating ideas effectively.
This program offers a four-year option that includes an international study year at an English-speaking partner institution.
