During your first year, you'll gain a comprehensive introduction to both human and physical geography while building essential geographical and scientific competencies. The subsequent years focus on specialized modules in either human or physical geography.
Physical geography components explore three main fields: glacial studies, water systems, and environmental transformation. The human geography curriculum offers thorough examinations of cultural, socioeconomic, and urban geography, highlighting theoretical frameworks and analytical techniques for addressing modern geographical challenges and policies. Subject matter spans from global economic systems and political geography to health disparities and modern sociological concepts.
Additionally, you'll master specialized digital tools, statistical methods, and field data collection techniques. Hands-on fieldwork and excursions form integral parts of the program, with domestic residential trips in the first year and typically an international field expedition in the second year.
In your final year, you'll utilize all accumulated expertise to complete an independent research dissertation.
