This program highlights the crucial role of statistical analysis in these two key fields and underscores the advantages of learning econometrics - using statistical techniques to analyze data for economic modeling.
The initial two years concentrate on developing your mathematical and quantitative skills through required courses in micro- and macroeconomics, mathematics, statistics and econometrics, along with accounting and finance basics. These foundational courses prepare you for advanced study in your third year.
In your final year, you'll conduct research via an economics dissertation while choosing from diverse electives offered by both the School of Economics and the University of Bristol Business School.
Past economics electives have covered: Development Economics, Behavioral Economics, and Data Science. Finance options have included: Financial Crises, Global Finance, and Investment Portfolio Strategies.
