Our PhD candidates in Regenerative Medicine are affiliated with and work within our dedicated Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Devices.

This research hub has built an esteemed legacy in developing groundbreaking, patient-centered therapies and technological advancements in regenerative medicine. We invite prospective students to explore our key research domains, with additional details available via the 'Join us for study' page. Our clinical focus areas encompass: cardiovascular conditions, diabetes, musculoskeletal injuries and disorders, neurodegenerative diseases and sensory impairments, along with wound recovery. Additionally, we conduct interdisciplinary research on foundational technologies, investigating the architecture, engineering, and functional characteristics of innovative materials for biological and environmental applications. This involves creating biomaterials that seamlessly integrate with living tissue, formulating mathematical frameworks, and establishing in-vitro cellular models to anticipate biological reactions.

Qualification Requirements

The entry requirements for the PhD are -
a recognised Masters degree with a significant research component for example MPhil from another university or similar qualification which is regarded by the University of Brighton as being equivalent and relevant.
or substantial appropriate research or professional experience at postgraduate level which resulted in published work written reports or other appropriate evidence of accomplishment An application made by someone with this experience will be considered on its merits and will normally require independent academic references.
