For those passionate about fashion and design from a worldwide perspective, this program enhances your knowledge of how clothing and everyday items gain meaning, from high-end designer pieces to common objects.
Led by specialists in fashion and design history, you'll study the creation and cultural role of garments and designs across different eras. Through analyzing diverse visuals, artifacts, and written works, you'll examine how fashion and design connect to social, political, and cultural identities.
You'll have opportunities for both independent and collaborative work, graduating with strong abilities in writing, public speaking, and exhibition development. The program fosters critical thinking, research skills, and communication expertise, preparing you for careers in fashion, museums, or various other fields.
This Fashion and Design History program provides access to valuable resources like our Teaching Collection, along with the internationally recognized Design Archives and Screen Archive South East, all housed at the university.
