The School of Social Sciences welcomes PhD applications across all its Academic Divisions. While the listed research fields serve as general guidelines, our faculty highly values original and inventive approaches to both emerging and traditional topics, as well as groundbreaking theoretical frameworks. Our supervision covers diverse disciplines such as Development Studies, Peace Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Social Work, and Social Care. Pursuing a PhD presents thrilling possibilities yet can feel overwhelming due to numerous considerations like the application process, transition period, enrollment requirements, academic standards, and advancement milestones. Within the School of Social Sciences, we emphasize that while each research student focuses on an independent project, they're never alone in their journey. We provide comprehensive support through training programs, skill development workshops, consistent advisory meetings, and continuous peer networking opportunities.
