This program focuses on examining archaeological human remains within their burial settings. Drawing from the School's significant expertise in human osteology, paleopathology, and related fields like field archaeology, archaeozoology, molecular archaeology, and archaeological biogeochemistry, it combines biological and archaeological evidence to tackle research questions. Students receive advanced training in identifying and analyzing human remains, studying skeletal variations, and evaluating pathological conditions. Access to the renowned Bradford Human Remains Collection, hands-on lab work, and a major research dissertation are key features. Suitable for both professional development and academic research, the program offers full-time and part-time options, with individual modules available for specialized study. Interim qualifications include Postgraduate Diploma and Postgraduate Certificate.
