This program examines the application of archaeological methods and human remains analysis in forensic (medico-legal) investigations. Students will develop comprehensive skills in archaeological excavation, crime scene surveying, and documentation. The curriculum also covers human anatomy and anthropological examination of remains, focusing on determining age, sex, ancestry, and interpreting trauma evidence. Specialized courses demonstrate how scientific approaches help construct biological profiles of unidentified remains, study tissue decomposition (and preservation), analyze trauma, and identify living individuals forensically. Participants will additionally learn scientific methodologies and proper techniques for presenting evidence in legal proceedings.
