This flexible, interdisciplinary public health program offers academic development for professionals currently in or aspiring to enter the public health sector.
The curriculum addresses key areas of population health and core public health disciplines: epidemiology, applied health research methodologies and statistics, health economics, health data systems, public healthcare administration, health promotion and protection, and global health. While ideal for clinicians and public health practitioners, the program also benefits professionals engaged in (or considering) health service planning, commissioning, or life sciences industries where population health knowledge and research skills are essential. The modular structure enables customization to individual career goals. Additionally, the program aligns with many competencies tested in the Faculty of Public Health's Part A examination.
Students complete core modules before selecting from diverse electives. The program begins with a non-graded orientation week introducing fundamental public health principles.
