The intercalated Clinical Science programs offer medical students a chance to dedicate a full year to exploring a specific medical field in greater detail. Please note this program is exclusively available to current medical students. The Clinical Sciences degree focuses on translational research - bridging the gap between laboratory discoveries and clinical applications. A key component involves a seven-month intensive research project, providing hands-on experience with contemporary medical research methods. The curriculum includes lectures on current medical debates, a substantial research placement in either a lab or clinical trials setting, and training in critically evaluating scientific literature.
Admission to the program requires applicants to show academic performance in their first three medical school years equivalent to an upper second-class honors degree or higher.
