Intercalated degree programs are designed exclusively for students pursuing Medicine or Dentistry, allowing them to pause their medical/dental studies for one year to enroll in a BMedSc intercalated degree.
This year-long program develops skills in evaluating and understanding research literature while offering hands-on experience in cutting-edge medical or clinical research, conducted either in laboratories or community settings.
Upon successful completion, students earn an honors degree classification. The curriculum highlights the scientific foundations of medicine while fostering proficiency in related scientific fields. This is accomplished through specialized subject study and a significant research component, which demonstrates how medical research enhances clinical practice. Today's healthcare professionals must grasp concepts once primarily valued for research careers.

Qualification Requirements
This programme is aimed at medical and dental students who have completed Year 2 of their vocational programmes since they have recently completed the relevant subjects. Entry is competitive. Currently it is necessary for all second year examinations (both Biological Sciences and Medicine in Society components - or equivalent) to have been successfully completed at the first attempt. Places are awarded on the basis of overall year mark which includes all second year modules.
Please note that if you have not yet completed Year 2 of your vocational course, both your acceptance and your choice of final year modules can be decided only after all examination marks are known.
TOEFL 88 overall with no less than 21 in Reading, 20 in Listening, 22 in Speaking and 21 in Writing. IELTS 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in any band.
