The MA Philosophy of Religion and Ethics: Global Philosophy of Religion pathway enables you to examine diverse philosophical questions and key debates at the cutting edge of current scholarship in religious philosophy and ethical studies. This program prepares you to tackle complex conceptual challenges while assessing modern developments and pressing issues in these disciplines.
At its foundation, the curriculum fosters critical engagement with contemporary philosophical dilemmas while teaching relevant methodologies and analytical skills. The philosophy of religion component frequently examines works by influential thinkers from worldwide philosophical traditions alongside modern scholars. In ethics, you'll have chances to investigate universal moral frameworks while developing skills to critically evaluate arguments and construct well-reasoned ethical positions.

Qualification Requirements
You will need an upper second-class Honours degree, or equivalent, preferably in Philosophy, Theology or another relevant subject (e.g. Sociology, English).
If your undergraduate degree is in another subject, you are still very welcome to apply. We consider every application on its merits and we are happy to consider applicants with diverse academic backgrounds. Your level of academic achievement, letters of reference, and personal statement will all have strong influence on our decision. We may also require you to submit a writing sample. This should be around 3-4 pages long, and although it does not need to be a Philosophy essay, it should provide strong evidence of your potential for the type of discursive, analytical, writing that is required in Philosophy at postgraduate level.
IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any band is equivalent to:
TOEFL: 88 overall with no less than 21 in Reading, 20 Listening, 22 Speaking and 21 in Writing
Cambridge English (exams taken from 2015): Advanced - minimum overall score of 176, with no less than 169 in any component
