The BA in Social Policy and Sociology Joint Honors program at Birmingham offers a comprehensive foundation in both disciplines, allowing students to examine the societal transformations shaping our modern world. This four-year program, which includes a year abroad, equips students with the analytical tools to address pressing contemporary challenges such as globalization, evolving work and family structures, gender dynamics, cultural diversity, media influence, digital technologies, and emerging political movements. Alongside these macro-level social theories, the curriculum emphasizes practical research methodologies, with dedicated training in social science research methods each year. Students spend their third year at an international partner university before returning for their final year to complete their Social Policy and Sociology studies.
