Our BA in English Language and History allows you to examine two distinct yet interconnected disciplines that reveal unexpected and captivating insights. This program immerses you in cultural and societal studies through both linguistic and historical lenses.
Through History coursework, you'll build a broad knowledge of medieval, early modern, and modern historical periods before focusing on your preferred specialization. Whatever your passion—be it cultural, economic, military, political, religious, or social history—our department has experts teaching in your area of interest.
When you pair History with English Language as a Joint Honours degree, you'll develop a deep understanding of English linguistics alongside its societal and political influences.
