About the program The growing cybersecurity field urgently needs skilled professionals capable of addressing complex threats. Our Cyber Security MSc equips students with cutting-edge knowledge through its innovative, practice-focused curriculum. You'll explore emerging areas like cyber defense and information governance, learn from renowned academics in state-of-the-art facilities, and gain practical experience through hands-on projects and industry applications. This BCS-accredited program meets the standards for partial Chartered IT Professional (CITP) recognition, validating your expertise against industry benchmarks. Assessment methods The evaluation approach primarily features written assignments, with only two formal exams across the entire program. Assessment methods are carefully selected based on each unit's content (see UIFs). Students receive ongoing formative feedback during practical sessions, with tutors providing guidance on task performance and progress. Our comprehensive assessment strategy evaluates both knowledge and skills, specifically designed for this program's delivery format and diverse student backgrounds. All assessments comply with university regulations. Coursework includes formative feedback to help students gauge their performance and identify areas for improvement, with particular consideration given to part-time students' needs. Career opportunities Graduates typically pursue roles such as: security analyst, penetration tester, information security specialist, security architect, intrusion analyst, DRBCP manager, or security auditor. Students need 2.2 honours degree or equivalent in a related subject area. IELTS overall score of 6.0 with minimum 5.5 in each element, TOEFL iBT - Listening: 17, Reading: 18, Speaking: 20, Writing: 17.
