About the programThis distinctive Master's program enables you to leverage your sports and exercise background to transition into clinical environments focused on exercise physiology. You'll explore how chronic illnesses affect physiology and how exercise testing can identify these changes. Gain hands-on experience through our on-site Community Exercise Clinic, working with diverse clinical groups including neurological, cardiac, dementia, and hypotensive patients, plus additional industry placements with experts.Evaluation methodsThe program employs diverse assessment approaches to cultivate transferable skills like written and verbal communication, logical reasoning, problem-solving, and time management. Some assessments simulate real clinical scenarios, such as practical exams evaluating patient care, technical abilities, and test result interpretation. These methods effectively measure unit learning outcomes while enhancing professional competencies.Professional opportunitiesGraduates can apply their sports and exercise expertise in clinical exercise physiology roles within the NHS, private healthcare, local government, insurance, or the wellness sector as health promotion specialists, clinical exercise physiologists, technicians, or researchers. The program also provides a pathway to advanced research degrees like MSc by Research, MPhil, or PhD programs.
Students need 2.2 honours degree or equivalent in a related subject area. IELTS overall score of 6.0 with minimum 5.5 in each element, TOEFL iBT - Listening: 17, Reading: 18, Speaking: 20, Writing: 17.
