Postgraduate diploma – 120 Master's-level creditsCurriculum focusOur Behavior Change and Health MSc program is designed to provide comprehensive expertise in behavior change theories combined with public health policy applications. You'll develop a thorough understanding of how physical activity and nutrition can prevent and manage chronic health conditions. A key feature is our Behavior Change and Health Placement module, where you'll refine your skills and gain workplace experience through practical application.Evaluation approachAssessments are structured to enrich learning beyond academic measurement. Various evaluation methods are employed, including: oral presentations case study analyses literature critiques individual reports practical evaluations experience portfolios unit examinations lab reports and skill demonstrations. These methods align with course objectives while encouraging innovative approaches, such as selecting relevant case studies within specific health contexts. Many assessments incorporate vocational elements, fostering awareness of health policies and engagement with real-world community or clinical research in physical activity and nutrition.Professional opportunitiesThis MSc is connected to the Research Centre for Health, Wellbeing and Behavior Change at the Institute for Sport and Physical Activity Research (ISPAR), and the Bedfordshire branch of the Policy Research Unit in Behavioral and Social Science, both directed by Professor Angel Chater. Students receive guidance to secure placements and research projects aligned with their career goals. Graduates will be prepared for roles across multiple sectors including: public health NHS government agencies charitable organizations sports and wellness industries education and academic research.Additional options include pursuing advanced research through MSc by research or MPhil/PhD programs.
Students need 2.2 honours degree or equivalent in a related subject area. IELTS overall score of 6.0 with minimum 5.5 in each element, TOEFL iBT - Listening: 17, Reading: 18, Speaking: 20, Writing: 17.
