This program prepares candidates with the expertise to perform and disseminate top-tier research, enabling careers at prestigious research-focused universities. Our Integrated PhD in Management is structured to provide doctoral researchers with the training and capabilities needed to produce and publish exceptional research, paving the way for successful careers as professional management academics at renowned research institutions. The program merges systematic research training with hands-on research application, culminating in dual qualifications: a Master in Research (MRes) alongside a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). We encourage applications from PhD candidates across all disciplines who aspire to cultivate professional research expertise in business, management, accounting, finance, and related fields. Admission to the Integrated PhD is based on academic merit, research potential, and a clear commitment to pursuing scholarly and research-oriented careers. Integrated PhD students can refine their research interests by collaborating with faculty specialists across our four key areas: Accounting, Finance & Law (AFL); Information, Decisions & Operations (IDO); Marketing, Business & Society (MBS); and Strategy & Organisation (S&O). Graduates of our PhD program, armed with robust research training, have secured academic roles at globally recognized institutions such as the University of Alberta, University of Cambridge, University of Edinburgh, University of Liverpool, and Warwick Business School, among others. Our PhD alumni also regularly publish in premier international academic journals.
Our Integrated PhD programme is competitive, and we seek motivated, talented individuals with demonstrably high intellectual ability who are committed to excellence in research.  Minimum requirements are a bachelor’s degree at a First or Upper-second level (or equivalent) from a recognised university and English language proficiency, with most successful applicants also having a good master’s degree (or equivalent) from a recognised university.
