The program aims to develop clinical psychologists proficient in evidence-based psychological evaluation, treatment, and research. The University of Bath's Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) serves as a professional training pathway for UK Clinical Psychologists, culminating in a doctoral degree recognized by the UK Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and endorsed by the British Psychological Society (BPS), British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP Level 2), and Association for Family Therapy (AFT Foundation Level).
Participants gain access to diverse placement and research options. Throughout the curriculum, significant focus is placed on blending theory, research, and practical application, alongside commitments to equity, diversity, and inclusion - fostering trainees' growth as thoughtful scientist-practitioners. Individuals with lived experience (PPE) actively contribute to and influence all program components.
Trainees can participate in ongoing research initiatives across multiple domains: Mental Health Across the Adult Lifespan, Clinical Health Psychology, Youth Mental Health, Autism & Intellectual Disabilities, Anxiety & Depression, Trauma, Addiction Studies, Pain Management, Psychotic Disorders, Mindfulness Practices, and Environmental Psychology.
