The MA Fine Art program encourages you to deeply examine what it means to be an artist in today's world. At Central Saint Martins, this course fosters diverse experimental approaches, pushing you to reevaluate your work within modern critical frameworks. Our research-driven teaching methods aim to broaden your expertise while adapting to your evolving personal requirements. Collaborative initiatives connected to your artistic practice are actively promoted.
This program attracts artists from across the globe working across various mediums - from traditional forms like painting and sculpture to contemporary expressions in installation, time-based, and digital art. It serves as a dynamic space for exploring complex social, cultural, and artistic perspectives, where art becomes a laboratory for conceptual and material experimentation. Students here embrace transformation, not just in developing their techniques but in forging innovative artistic stances. Emphasizing learner-focused education, we critically examine both your artwork and creative processes, helping you evolve your research into a robust, enduring practice.
Program Structure
The MA Fine Art is delivered as an extended full-time course spanning 60 weeks across two academic years. Students should dedicate approximately 30 hours weekly to their studies, encompassing both scheduled instruction and independent work.
This flexible structure allows participants to balance their education with part-time employment, internships, or care commitments, though full attendance is required during designated teaching days (Monday through Wednesday).
