In today's dynamic industry landscape, brimming with innovation and teamwork, textile design's future holds unprecedented promise. Today's graduates must demonstrate exceptional creativity, adapting to rapid media and technological advancements while meeting increasing demands for eco-conscious and ethical design solutions.
The BA Textile Design program equips students to navigate this multifaceted professional world. Through diverse projects, technical workshops, and faculty expertise, you'll explore various professional scenarios and their required skills. The curriculum also includes cultural studies, career development modules, business insights, and guest lectures from industry experts.
Students can specialize in three core areas: Print, Knit, or Weave, while also exploring digital techniques, unconventional methods, and sustainable design approaches. The program provides access to cutting-edge facilities for experimental surface treatments and emerging technologies. First-year students sample multiple specializations before choosing their focus in the second year with academic guidance. This strategic specialization cultivates adaptable yet highly skilled designers.

The standard entry requirements for this course are as follows
120 UCAS tariff points which can be made up of one or a combination of the following accepted full Level 3 qualifications
Three A Levels at grades ABC at least one subject must include Art Art and Design or Design and Technology
Pass at Foundation Diploma in Art and Design Level 3 or 4 and one A Level at grade C or above
Distinction Merit Merit at BTEC Extended Diploma preferred subjects include Art Art and Design or Design and Technology
Merit at UAL Extended Diploma
Access to Higher Education Diploma equivalent to 120 UCAS tariff points preferred subjects include Art Art and Design or Design and Technology
Equivalent EUinternational qualifications such as International Baccalaureate Diploma 26 points
And three GCSE passes at grade 4 or above grade AC
IELTS score of 6.0 or above, with at least 5.5 in reading, writing, listening and speaking
TOEFL IBT - valid for 2 years - Score Required - 80 - Listening - 17, Reading - 18, Writing - 17, Speaking - 20.
