The BA (Hons) Costume for Performance program provides a comprehensive education in costume design and creation. Ideal for aspiring designers and makers, this course covers both traditional and digital methods for producing costumes across various performance mediums including theater, dance, film, television, and specialized productions.
We cultivate each student's unique artistic perspective, equipping them with skills to tackle challenges and pioneer innovative methods across multiple platforms: live performances, broadcasts, digital media, interactive installations, experiential events, and experimental projects. Our curriculum blends specialized research with teamwork, encouraging students to merge conventional and digital approaches in costume design and construction. This fosters inventive, eco-conscious methodologies that enhance professional workflows and daily life.

Qualification Requirements
The standard minimum entry requirements for this course are
112 UCAS tariff points from two or more A Levels preferred subjects include Art Design English Drama and Film Studies
Distinction Foundation Diploma in Art Design Level 3 or 4 would normally expect Foundation plus at least one Alevel with a total of at least 112 tariff points
Distinction Merit Merit at BTEC Extended Diploma preferred subjects Art Design
Merit at UAL Extended Diploma
Access Diploma or 112 new UCAS tariff points from the Access to HE Diploma
112 new UCAS tariff points from a combination of the above qualifications or an equivalent full Level 3 qualification
or equivalent EU or nonEU qualifications such as International Baccalaureate Diploma at 25 points minimum
and three GCSE passes at grade AC or grade 94
Entry to this course will also be determined by assessment of your portfolio
IELTS level 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
