Boost your bachelor's degree by adding a year-long placement in industry, business, or research settings. The Exercise and Health Science program examines how sports, physical activity, and nutrition contribute to disease prevention, treatment, and improving quality of life across all ages. This field advances scientific understanding of movement, performance fundamentals, and how nutrition, psychology, and exercise promote wellness.
After building core knowledge in medical and sports sciences and grasping the connection between physical activity and health, students can focus on specialized topics related to wellbeing, exercise, mental health, and dietary science.
During your fourth year, you'll complete a 12-month professional placement, graduating after five years with an MSci (an undergraduate Master's degree) rather than a BSc. Placement opportunities vary widely, but typically allow you to gain hands-on experience in corporate, industrial, or scientific research environments, building practical skills that complement your academic studies and improve career prospects.
