Explore the principles, concepts, and studies related to the person-centred approach while gaining a more profound appreciation for counselling's societal impact. This program builds upon the Person-Centred Counselling MSc foundation but offers a distinct final year pathway where students pursue our Specialist Certificate in Counselling Children and Young People. This certificate can alternatively be taken as an independent course by qualified professionals.
We rank among the select universities offering professionally accredited training in Person-centred Counselling. Our thorough curriculum integrates personal development, counselling theory, practical application, and research to prepare aspiring counsellors for diverse therapeutic scenarios.
COSCA, Scotland's professional counselling and psychotherapy association, validates this program. You'll learn from experienced, practicing counsellors who provide exceptional guidance and create an encouraging atmosphere for developing your expertise.
The full-time option enables you to earn an MSc within 18 months. You can complete the final 60 credits through either a Dissertation/Counselling Research Study or a combination of a condensed research project and our Specialist Certificate in Counselling Children and Young People. Graduates will meet the necessary qualifications to seek COSCA accreditation as professional counsellors or psychotherapists.
