Our Master of Science in Medical Imaging provides comprehensive knowledge about how technological advancements aid in disease detection and research. The University of Aberdeen is globally recognized for pioneering new medical imaging methods, notably as the birthplace of the first whole-body Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner.
Medical imaging applications have experienced tremendous growth and continue to expand rapidly. This program covers all major imaging modalities, such as Nuclear Medicine, Positron Emission Tomography (PET), MRI, and Ultrasound. Though classroom-focused without clinical placements, we leverage our strong ties with local hospitals to enhance your understanding of these technologies in contemporary clinical and research settings.

The programme is also open to students with a Biological Sciences or Life Sciences background. Applicants from non-physical science or engineering backgrounds must be prepared to undertake training in maths and physics as part of the programme.
