Aberdeen's Law program examines the historical, social, political, and economic factors shaping legal systems and societies. You'll develop a lawyer's mindset rather than merely memorizing laws. Our exceptional faculty will challenge you with intricate, real-world legal scenarios as you study criminal, public, and private law, legal frameworks, contracts, human rights, family law, property law, and EU legal matters.
The curriculum also includes business-focused courses like organizational management, customer and market strategies, business environments, and corporate legal issues, providing specialized knowledge of business-related laws. You can refine your legal skills through student activities such as moot courts, the dynamic Law Society, our student journal (which may publish your work), and the community-focused Aberdeen Law Project. While many graduates enter legal practice, over a third leverage their law degree for diverse careers in business, media, finance, education, government, or law enforcement—fields where this program provides exceptional preparation.
