Studying Law and Spanish Law at Aberdeen provides the distinctive advantages of our renowned academic breadth, depth, and excellence at Aberdeen Law School – ranked among the top 5 out of 90+ UK law schools with 93% student satisfaction. This five-year program includes the unique opportunity to study Spain's legal framework, featuring a full academic year abroad. The curriculum examines how historical, social, political, and economic factors shape legal systems and societal governance, focusing on developing legal reasoning skills rather than mere memorization. Our distinguished faculty challenges students with intricate, practical legal scenarios across criminal, public, private, contract, human rights, property, family, and EU law. Numerous extracurricular activities allow you to refine legal skills, including moot courts, the dynamic Law Society, student publications, and the Aberdeen Law Project community initiative.
Like all our joint degrees, this program delivers comprehensive Scots Law training for the LLB qualification. Additionally, you'll study Spanish language throughout your degree and spend your entire third year at Spain's University of Deusto or Seville through the Erasmus Exchange Program.
Law graduates enjoy diverse career paths, with about one-third pursuing opportunities beyond traditional legal practice. Your degree serves as a gateway to international business (where you'll gain competitive advantage), media, finance, education, government agencies, and law enforcement.
