This program employs cutting-edge field techniques, digital tools, and technological advancements to demonstrate how to decode the invaluable information preserved in Earth's rock formations, minerals, and fossils - a natural record containing solutions to modern challenges like climate shifts, water conservation, geological hazards, and the shift from fossil fuels to geothermal and renewable energy sources.
You'll explore the formation, characteristics, and makeup of the three primary rock categories (igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary), study significant geological phenomena and dating methods, and cultivate professional skills for collecting and analyzing geological data in real-world settings.
