Delivering top-tier professionals to the software development sector. The Northern Ireland Executive has prioritized the expansion of the ICT industry as a key focus area. As reported by Invest NI, Northern Ireland stands as Europe's premier destination for foreign direct investment in software development and IT support services. With over 900 companies operating in the ICT field, including numerous multinational corporations, the region has seen significant job creation in knowledge-based sectors, especially in software development, testing, and financial administration. This program is designed for graduates from non-computing backgrounds seeking career transformation, helping them capitalize on the personal and professional growth opportunities within this rapidly expanding industry.

This rigorous one-year master's conversion program targets driven graduates holding strong honors degrees in any field, provided their prior computing exposure does not exceed 50%. Although tailored to meet local employment demands, the competencies gained are readily applicable on an international scale. The program's primary objective is to produce graduates capable of implementing software engineering best practices across diverse organizational settings and software systems. Northern Ireland's thriving software industry demands skilled developers, and Ulster University's faculty members—active in both research and teaching—integrate cutting-edge findings into the curriculum. A substantial portion of staff hold Higher Education Academy membership, and all instructors are required to possess a Postgraduate Certificate in University Teaching or equivalent qualification. All Computing programs undergo regular Faculty Review and University Revalidation processes.
