Exploring innovative approaches to photography through Belfast School of Art's globally renowned MFA in Photography. At Belfast School of Art, we cultivate distinctive photographic perspectives that push boundaries in today's international art scene while embracing our distinctive regional and cultural identity. Recognized by the British Journal of Photography as a leading European institution for photographic education, our alumni make their mark worldwide across publications, exhibitions, and digital platforms, constantly redefining photography's role in modern culture and contemporary image-making.

Our faculty consists of internationally active photographers, authors, and theorists including Professor Paul Seawright, Ailbhe Greaney, Dr KayLynn Deveney, Ken Grant, Clare Gallagher, and Magnum photographers Martin Parr and Donovan Wylie. The program features visiting lecturers like Hannah Starkey, Guy Martin, and Donald Weber. Students engage with photography's evolving technological landscape, reimagining their creative approach through visual, theoretical, and contextual frameworks. Strong connections with galleries and festivals enable professional networking, enhanced by masterclasses, specialized workshops, annual Paris study trips, and visits to cultural venues across Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
