Social workers transform lives daily, supporting individuals from infancy through their senior years. They assist families and individuals by offering crucial interventions and services during pivotal moments of need. As a profession, social work champions human rights and social equity while empowering people to navigate life's obstacles and potential dangers. The Social Work Degree launched in 2004 to align with Northern Ireland Social Care Council standards, which mandated that all social work education occur at Honours degree level. A key aspect includes a mandatory pre-registration year - meaning graduates must complete a supervised employment period with successful evaluation before qualifying for full registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council as certified Social Workers.
