Professional evaluation and management of our constructed surroundings through expert methodologies. Building surveyors specialize in offering authoritative guidance regarding design, construction, upkeep, restoration of structures, and preservation of architectural heritage. A significant portion of their responsibilities includes examining building conditions and prescribing necessary corrective measures. Their scope of work is diverse, encompassing both on-site evaluations and office-based tasks. The Building Surveying degree program equips students with specialized expertise required to begin their careers as graduate-level building surveyors, ultimately preparing them for the Professional Competence Assessment to achieve RICS chartered status. The curriculum focuses on comprehending building surveying's functions and its connections with other construction-related fields. Alongside fundamental subjects like construction technology, maintenance management, and heritage conservation, professional skills are enhanced through interdisciplinary projects integrated throughout the academic program.
