The BA Honors in Architecture is a full-time, studio-focused program spanning three academic years. Students can earn an Associate Bachelor's (AB) degree after completing two years, with an additional year required for the full BA Honors qualification. This program holds validation from the Royal Institute of British Architects and recognition from the Architects Registration Board. Graduates with the BA Honors degree gain exemption from RIBA Part 1 exams. The Belfast School of Architecture stands out in the UK and Ireland by being situated within a Faculty that includes both the School of Built Environment and the School of Art and Design, creating unique interdisciplinary connections that shape our educational approach. Ulster University's BA (Hons) in Architecture addresses the evolving landscape of architectural practice, urban development, and societal changes, while examining broader professional challenges and fostering creative exploration of architecture's societal role. To become a practicing architect, students must develop essential professional competencies alongside the critical thinking and academic rigor expected at undergraduate level. The program features a Vertical Studio framework (called SuperStudio) operating across two semesters, where students from all years, including Master's candidates, collaborate in specialized studios - mirroring the collaborative environment of real-world architectural practice.
