Gain expertise in public health practices to tackle health disparities among individuals and communities while building leadership capabilities. This prepares you to support the evolving school nursing initiatives and apply evidence-based approaches in your work.

Leadership plays a central role, with emphasis on enhancing quality and leveraging leadership traits to drive lasting improvements in SCPHN practice. You'll grow into an adaptable, resilient professional capable of navigating shifts in healthcare and social services. The program also covers assessing health requirements, safeguarding children and families in health visiting scenarios, and prescribing from the community practitioners' formulary.

This course balances theory and practice equally (50% each). Securing a clinical placement requires a formal agreement with a health trust, local authority, or employer. Your sponsoring organization assigns a practice assessor to guide your hands-on learning and evaluate your competency.

You'll examine research methodologies to grasp the evidence supporting professional practice. Practical experiences help bridge theory with real-world application. Collaborative learning with students from diverse backgrounds and postgraduate programs fosters fresh insights and innovative thinking.
