Our MSc programs are perfect for graduates or professionals in civil engineering, structural engineering, or construction who wish to expand and deepen their technical expertise in specialized fields.
This program includes an advanced practice component alongside our one-year master's, offering a chance to elevate your qualification through an internship, research project, or international study experience.
You'll strengthen your technical abilities in key civil engineering disciplines, including advanced structural design, geotechnics, and water treatment processes. Additionally, you'll deepen your conceptual grasp of structural engineering through advanced analysis and design techniques, learning to model and solve real-world structural challenges. The curriculum also covers advanced knowledge in designing structures for dynamic and seismic conditions, along with modern planning and visualization methods like building information modeling. Your dissertation allows you to undertake supervised research, contributing original insights to civil or structural engineering.
Choose from three pathways to earn your postgraduate master's degree: MSc Civil and Structural Engineering (one year full-time), MSc Civil and Structural Engineering (two years part-time), or MSc Civil and Structural Engineering (with Advanced Practice, two years full-time). The advanced practice option enriches your qualification by incorporating a vocational or research internship. A vocational internship boosts your work experience and CV, while a research internship hones your analytical, teamwork, and academic skills by collaborating with a research team. While we guarantee a research internship, securing a vocational one depends on your efforts—though we provide guidance and support throughout the process.
