This BSc (Hons) Forensic Science program at Teesside University offers a multidisciplinary approach. Alongside training in modern forensic analysis techniques, we provide thorough instruction in investigative procedures - from evidence collection to courtroom presentation. For instance, in criminal investigations, materials like glass fragments, paint chips, fibers, shoe prints, or DNA from bodily fluids can establish critical links between individuals and crime scenes. The real skill lies in selecting which evidence to analyze and determining the most effective methods for interpretation. Beyond developing core forensic competencies, the curriculum deepens your knowledge of fundamental subjects such as biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, toxicology, and analytical chemistry.
