Our fine arts program focuses on hands-on learning through studio projects alongside classmates and instructors. A team of professional artists and educators mentors you in discovering and refining your artistic style, while encouraging experimentation with diverse mediums and techniques to expand your creative vision.
Working collaboratively with fellow students provides fresh viewpoints to evolve your artistic approach. Strengthen your creative resilience by maintaining a sketchbook and written journal to document your journey, challenges, and breakthroughs - revealing patterns in your thought process and recurring themes. Additionally, you'll gain practical knowledge for succeeding in the arts sector, from exploring concepts and artistic paths to mastering presentation skills and managing ambitious projects.
The program benefits from its partnership with MIMA (Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art), an internationally recognized contemporary gallery and Plus Tate institution. This connection helps transition students into professional practice by offering insights into museum operations, artist collaborations, and various creative roles including curation, education, and arts administration. You'll apply these experiences by organizing exhibitions with local galleries and participating in regional arts events.

Duration: 3 years (or 4 years including an internship)
