As global energy demands rise, diverse solutions must emerge from multiple sources. In the short term, different fuel types will play crucial roles worldwide: currently oil and gas, with growing dependence on hydrogen and biofuels. The MSc by Research in Fuel Technology offers extensive subject options such as: Catalyst development, Process analysis, Refining techniques, Process enhancement, and Pilot-scale research. The Energy Safety Research Institute (ESRI) stands as a premier hub for pioneering energy resource technologies. ESRI's research primarily falls into four key areas: Hydrocarbon: Oil and gas extraction/processing, refining efficiency challenges, fuel additives and composition/performance chemistry; Hydrogen: systems for producing hydrogen from waste energy, photocatalytic hydrogen production, hydrogen energy applications; CO2: methods for extracting carbon dioxide from fuel sources, utilizing CO2 as fuel; and Biofuel: processes to integrate biofuel production with chemical industry supply chains.
