A Master of Arts by Research in Digital Media allows you to pursue an extensive project driven by your personal interests in the digital realm. This prestigious degree can open doors to academic careers or expand job opportunities in sectors like education, government, or private industry. The program spans one year for full-time students or two years part-time, ideal for those seeking their first research degree or considering advanced studies. You'll produce a thesis of up to 40,000 words showcasing original findings, followed by an oral defense (viva voce).
Your research topic will be finalized in collaboration with supervisors, and we advise initiating these discussions before applying to draft a preliminary proposal.
Throughout your project, you'll receive guidance from two expert academic supervisors, with biweekly meetings in the initial term and scheduled sessions thereafter.
The program sharpens essential research skills for advanced digital media work, complemented by campus training initiatives. You'll also present your findings at departmental seminars and the School of Culture and Communication's postgraduate conference.
