Pursuing a combined Foundation degree in Sociology and Psychology provides comprehensive scientific education about the connections between the mind, brain, and behavior while establishing the crucial theoretical framework to comprehend human social behavior. The initial foundation year of this four-year program familiarizes students with core concepts needed to advance to the BSc in Psychology. After successfully finishing the Foundation Year, students move on to Year 1 of the BSc. The foundation year (level 3) is taught by The College, Swansea University (TCSU), while Years 2-4 (levels 4-6) are delivered by the College of Human and Health Sciences. The curriculum covers psychological and neuroscientific foundations of cognition, reasoning, memory, and language, examines the impacts of brain injury, and investigates methods to enhance health-related behaviors. Students will master techniques for generating insights using diverse social research methods, from statistical analysis of large-scale surveys to qualitative interviews with individuals and focus groups. The program cultivates strong research, communication, analytical, and presentation abilities, along with advanced numeracy and IT skills.

A degree in Sociology and Psychology creates numerous opportunities for advanced study or professional paths.
