For those passionate about medical sciences who lack the necessary entry requirements for our BSc program or are mature students re-entering education, our BSc with Foundation Year offers the perfect pathway. This four-year program begins with a foundation year that covers essential concepts and knowledge needed to advance to the BSc in Applied Medical Sciences. Students who achieve at least a 60% overall average in the Foundation Year will move on to Year 1 of the BSc. Alternatively, they may transition to Year 1 of either the Medical Pharmacology BSc (B210) or Population Health and Medical Sciences BSc (B211). The curriculum includes core topics such as biological chemistry, metabolism, microbiology, molecular biology, data analysis, and laboratory techniques. Upon advancing to the full BSc program, students will explore the scientific foundations of modern medicine, covering subjects like human anatomy, cell biology, genetics, pharmacology, and neuroscience, along with their clinical applications. You'll gain a comprehensive understanding of human biology, disease mechanisms, current treatments, and the future of medical therapies.
Our BSc in Applied Medical Sciences emphasizes innovation and entrepreneurship, making it ideal for careers in emerging scientific fields, pharmaceuticals, or biotechnology. It also serves as a strong foundation for graduate-level clinical studies, including medicine or postgraduate research.
