The Foundation Year program in Egyptology and Ancient History offers an immersive exploration of Ancient Egyptian language, literature, history, and culture. This four-year BA degree equips students with versatile skills prized by employers while unlocking diverse career opportunities. The curriculum delves into Egyptian art and architecture, ancient civilizations, archaeology, religion, gender studies, Middle Kingdom Egypt, Greco-Roman history, military strategies, and imperial systems, alongside language studies in Egyptian, Greek, or Latin. The initial foundation year establishes essential concepts for advancing to the full BA program. After completing this preparatory year, students transition to Year 1 of the degree, with an exciting option for a second-year study abroad semester in destinations like the USA, Canada, China, Hong Kong, or Singapore to broaden academic and professional horizons.
Egyptology and Ancient History students gain hands-on experience with artifacts at the Egypt Centre, with flexible specialization options in Language, Art, Religion, or Archaeology.
