Balance work and study: Attend St Mary's University one day per week while maintaining employment with children and young people for at least half your workweek. Our students represent diverse educational environments, including Primary and Early Years education, special needs settings, and both faith-based and secular institutions. We've established robust collaborations with various schools - Catholic, other denominational, and non-religious institutions. Partner schools participate in student selection, provide practical training support, and contribute to university coursework. St Mary's additionally provides two work-based degree programs leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Two-year BA (Hons) Primary Education (Work-based Route) with QTS Two-year BA (Hons) Primary Education (Work-based Route) with QTS specializing in Physical Education Two-year BA (Hons) Primary Education (Work-based Route) with QTS specializing in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Professional prospects This non-QTS program enhances classroom teaching skills and advances your career in the education field.
An A Level, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is required, and you must have already gained a foundation degree in Education. A GCSE grade 4/C (or equivalent) in English Language. We offer GCSE equivalency tests for those who need to improve their GCSE grades. IELTS - 6.0 overall with no less than 5.5 in any section TOEFL iBT - 80 overall with 18 in reading, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing.
