Our Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) for modern foreign languages prepares you to teach French, Spanish, or German. While you'll typically specialize in one primary language, many students also choose to teach a secondary language, often at Key Stage 3. The program evaluates your teaching skills with students aged 11-16, while also providing opportunities for A Level instruction when suitable.

Qualification Requirements
Students are expected to have a good degree (2:2 or above) in a related subject. GCSEs in English Language and Mathematics at level 4 (grade C if taken before 2017) or above or equivalent. GCSE equivalents are offered by St Mary's University. Students whose first Language is not English they need to have an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in any section. iBT TOEFL: 88 overall with 20 in reading, 19 in listening, 21 in speaking and 20 in writing.
