The realm of designing for tomorrow's physiques is advancing swiftly - delve into beauty traditions and fantastical creature creation through speculative design approaches and augmented reality technologies.
This program aims to cultivate visionary designers and artists seeking to pioneer this emerging field. The curriculum fosters innovative explorations that empower you to engage in meaningful discourse, offering fresh perspectives on beauty standards, the grotesque, gender dynamics, creature conception, and evolving bodily identities.
Operating from our professional-grade make-up, hairstyling, and prosthetics facilities, you'll blend practical skills with theoretical knowledge, mastering speculative and critical design methodologies for future bodily expressions using transformative techniques. Each project will enable you to investigate forward-thinking concepts about the forces molding tomorrow's physical forms. Through demonstrating alternative possibilities, you'll acquire skills to prototype and present sophisticated design and application ideas.
You'll cultivate advanced creative application abilities to formulate comprehensive research and design propositions by imagining novel futures. Drawing inspiration from countercultures, avant-garde experiences, speculative projects, biotechnological advances, and even sci-fi narratives, your creations may manifest as studies, publications, artifacts, films, digital content, physical objects, or performances - culminating in a final postgraduate exhibition.
Benefiting from the faculty's strong industry connections, you'll gain insights from guest lecturers spanning diverse contemporary design fields, including fashion, cinema, media, beauty, and other creative sectors.
