Transform your creative visions into polished artworks and develop your professional portfolio using our specialized multi-media resources and art studios at our Adobe Creative Campus. The introductory program kicks off with a five-week collaborative project, allowing students to connect with peers who share their passion while helping them adjust to campus life. This one-year foundation equips you with essential creative, technical, and academic skills to prepare for undergraduate studies. After finishing, you can advance to Solent's three-year BA (Hons) Illustration Degree program.
In our purpose-built studios, you'll enjoy ample space, professional equipment, and expert guidance to maximize your artistic growth. The curriculum covers diverse subjects including Orientation, Concepts and Themes, Visual Language, Critical Discourse, Editorial Illustration, The Society of Superstition and Phobias, and Research and Authorship - with opportunities to focus on your specific creative interests.
You'll also conceptualize, organize, and create a comprehensive portfolio that showcases your technical abilities and creative thinking, demonstrating mastery of studio practices and effective use of various mediums and digital tools. This forward-thinking program examines illustration as visual storytelling for both children's and adult audiences, along with editorial illustration that pushes boundaries in contemporary visual communication.
