Train to be a motivating and inclusive secondary Physics educator while enhancing your subject expertise, creative abilities, and professional practice to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You'll become part of our vibrant Sheffield Institute of Education and participate in community-based work placements. The program covers essential teaching components such as learning theories, instructional methods, evaluation techniques, and classroom management strategies. Alongside your PGCE in Science (Physics), you'll obtain QTS and earn 60 credits at Masters level. Our curriculum is built on core values that connect you with real-world experiences, foster collaboration, encourage innovative thinking, and offer a nurturing space for personal growth.
Throughout this course, you'll refine your teaching competencies through guidance from trained school mentors, expert colleagues in educational settings, and experienced university tutors. University sessions and school placements will introduce you to subject-specific teaching methods, where you'll critically examine educational research and theoretical frameworks.
