Train to be a motivating and inclusive secondary English educator while enhancing your subject expertise, creative abilities, and professional practice to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). International candidates need to submit applications by April 12th for the September 2024 intake. Join our vibrant Sheffield Institute of Education and participate in community-based work placements. The program covers essential teaching components such as learning theories, instructional methods, evaluation techniques, and classroom management. Alongside your PGCE in English, you'll obtain QTS and earn 60 credits at Master's level. Our curriculum is built on core values that connect you with real-world experiences, foster collaboration, encourage innovative thinking, and offer a nurturing environment for growth.
Throughout this course, you'll refine your teaching competencies through guidance from trained school mentors, expert colleagues, and university tutors. University sessions and school placements will introduce you to specialized teaching methodologies, where you'll critically examine educational research and theoretical frameworks
